Wonder Message

In general, there are a lot of messages and life lesson to think about. I think one of the messages of the story (Wonder) is to treat others the way you want to be treated. Think so because if you were in August's place, would you want to be ignored and disliked by everyone? Probably not. So then, if you change to Julian's position, what would you do? Think about yourself as August at the same time. You would probably treat August nicely. If you would be like Julian really is in this story, that means you also want to be ignored and disliked by everyone.

In this story, August made many friends along the way. Summer, Jack, Amis and many more. At the beginning though about 2 over 3 of his friends used to hate August. They used to get sick even by the thought of touching him. August proved them all wrong though. 1 over 3 of his friends stood up for him like Summer and Jack from the very beginning (or the middle- beginning). Wouldn't it be nice to have all the friends stand up for you. That would make you very happy. At the end though, the whole grade liked August (seems like Julian had to give up his bullying too.)

I think the author wanted us readers to think about how we would act if August was right in front of us. Or, if we were August, how would WE want to be treated. That's why I think the message is "treat others the way you want to be treated".

  1. I also think this a great message. Mine was Never judge a book by it's cover. Your's is very true for this story.

  2. I think you are definitely right! When you read this book and you put yourself in the character's shoes you see all of the bullying going on in this book. I think the bullying that Julian did in this book is just terrible.
