Title: Savvy Author: Ingrid Law
Reason: O.M.G.Y.H.T.R.T.B because this is a sweet, light story. It has all the elements to satisfy a reader when they are done reading the book. Savvy has lot’s of magic, Adventure and imagination for those who love Fantasy/ Adventure books. It's about a girl named Missisipi (A.K.A Mibs), who is about to turn thirteen. It is a huge milestone for her because that's the age she discovers an inner magical ability- a savvy. The Beaumont family have a special case where when a family member turns 13 years old, they discover their own power. Who says discovering your savvy is easy though? Not Mibs. She had to go through some misunderstandings, and that eventually led her to the wrong path to find her dad, who was in the hospital. He was at a bad condition, and Mibs thought she knew how to save him. Unfortunately, her savvy abandons her, and she is forced to figure out what else she can do. This book mixes magic, love, and faith in a wonderful way, I couldn't keep the book down! If you are wondering, the sequel to Savvy is Scumble, and the level is a T-U. I truly encourage you to read this book if you haven't, and let the book capture you!
Good job on describing the story. You gave a lot of info so that we will want to read it, and didn't spoil the ending though. You could work on talking about what the power Savvy is, and you can put the books that Ingrid Law wrote at the ending because it will sound better. Good job over all though!
ReplyDeleteI agree Julia. I was really hooked in even though I have already read Savvy. The way you described the book was good. I also think that you should put in the definition of Savvy, since not many people know what a savvy is. Anyway, the way you described the book sounded exciting and that's why I was hooked in. Like Julia said, good job!
