How might you create an interactive exhibit that will encourage young visitors to care about the civilization of Ancient Egypt?
Encouraging the people to interact, learn, participate, and enjoy in the museum was one of the challenges our Arts group had. We decided to pair up into two groups of two since our group had four members. We then decided to combine our projects into activities that would engage the learners, while still making it informative. I decided to make lotus puzzle pieces so that they would get their own choice of the layout on the ancient walls. After that I might let them be archaeologists and infer and observe characteristics about the tile.
Describe your learning process form start to end... as an individual, and as a group-member.
I used a lot of tools to research, such as books, websites, eBooks, and general knowledge. I then put all the information into MIDAS notes. As an individual, I thought that I did my best to find all the research possible, and tried to go to all stations in the museum. As a group member, I think I worked collaboratively and helped my group members.
What aspect(s) of the project challenged you the most?
Since the Lotus Tile was a tricky artifact for me, I think research was something I struggled with. It took me some time to find the information I needed.
What are you proud of?
I am proud of how my artifact turned out, and how everyone enjoyed the interactive part about it. I am also proud that everybody went away learning something new.
What part(s) of the overall experience do you think you will remember the most?
I think I will remember the collaboration of my team the most. I will remember the way we worked together and researched.

Wow! Thats a really good idea to pair up. Our group tried that... It didn't really satisfy me, but I bet your group was great!
ReplyDeleteI think that your artifact was very intriguing and really helped me not just as a student but from an archaeologist's perspective to learn about the Ancient Egyptian history.
ReplyDeleteGood job Vainavi!
